Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has appealed to public representatives across the state to actively participate in the Shala Pravesh Utsav being organised from June 16 to June 27. He said that collective efforts are needed to ensure that every child is enrolled in school and continues education without interruption. The Chief Minister also stressed that no child should be deprived of learning opportunities because of social or economic barriers.
Extending his greetings to students, parents, teachers and members of the education community on the commencement of the new academic session, Sai said the statewide enrolment campaign marks the beginning of a renewed effort to strengthen access to education. According to him, the initiative is aimed not only at admitting children to schools but also at encouraging regular attendance and preventing dropouts.

In a letter addressed to ministers, Members of Parliament, MLAs, district panchayat and janpad panchayat presidents, mayors and representatives of urban local bodies, the Chief Minister emphasised the importance of public participation in the campaign. He described education as the strongest foundation for the progress of any society and nation and said ensuring access to education for every child is a shared responsibility.
Sai urged elected representatives to visit schools in their respective areas during the campaign period. He asked them to help identify children who have not yet enrolled in school or those who have discontinued their studies and encourage them to return to classrooms. “The participation of public representatives will help transform this campaign into a people’s movement,” the Chief Minister said.
Highlighting efforts to improve educational quality, Sai said the state government is investing in better infrastructure and learning environments through PM SHRI schools and other education-focused programmes. These initiatives, he said, are aimed at creating a stronger academic ecosystem for students across Chhattisgarh.
The Chief Minister also announced that the state plans to establish 150 Vivekananda Schools beginning in 2026. He said the new institutions are expected to expand access to quality education and set higher benchmarks in school education across the state.
CM Sai said that the government schools are being upgraded in line with the National Education Policy 2020, with emphasis on modern infrastructure, technology-enabled learning and student-centric teaching methods. The objective, he said, is to equip students with the skills and knowledge required for the future.
He further noted that students continue to receive support through a range of welfare measures, including midday meals, free textbooks and school uniforms. Girls are also benefiting from schemes such as the Saraswati Cycle Yojana, which aims to improve access to education and reduce barriers to school attendance. The Chief Minister said these initiatives reflect the government’s commitment to ensuring that financial constraints do not prevent children from pursuing their education.
Expressing confidence in the success of the enrolment campaign, Sai said active participation by public representatives, educators, parents and local communities would help bring every eligible child into the education system. He said the combined efforts of all stakeholders would strengthen the state’s goal of ensuring universal access to education and securing every child’s right to learn.
